3/10/11

There were 2 less daphnia in the control beaker (8), but the temperature stayed the same at 24°C. In the experimental beaker there were 6 daphnia, 2 less then yesterday. The temperature had also dropped one degrees to 27°C. Also the timer was correct.

3/9/11

There was no change in the control beaker today. But in the experimental beaker the daphnia decreased from 11 to 8 and the temperature had risen from 26°C to 28°C. The timer was correct and the set up was in good shape.

3/8/11

I discovered today that some of my daphnia had died (5 in the control and 4 in the experimental). The timer was correct and the beakers were clean.

3/7/11

I checked my daphnia today and even though they weren't fed over the weekend, they all survived. I recorded the data and checked the timer which was on time.

3/4/11

Today, I checked my Daphnia, they were all alive and I recorded the data. It seems that the daphnia can survive with the 15watt bulb. I also improved my procedure.

Data Table

3/3/11

Today, I checked my daphnia and discovered that they had all survived. Ms. Minn directed me to fill the beakers up to the 800ml mark using water from the daphnia flask.

3/2/11 Late

Yesterday, when I came back from being sick for 2days, I found that all my Daphnia had died. In my data table I reported the cause of death as lack of attention (I consulted Ms. Minn). I replaced the beakers with 15 daphnia each, unfortunately I did not have enough spring water to fill the beakers up to the 800ml mark.

2/25/11

Today I switched the bulb on the light for the experimental beaker from a 90w bulb to a 15w bulb. I had to replace the Daphnia in the experimental beaker because the daphnia from before had died. I took all the live daphnia in the control beaker, there were 11, and replaced the water in their beaker. I fed both beakers one pellet of daphnia food each.
